Guru Arjan Dev got married as well as appointed as a Guru in this Mahal. Baba Atal Rai and Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur were born at this place and Sri Guru Hargobind Singh was also lived here for some time. Later, it was enlarged and modified by Guru Arjan Dev and his son, Guru Hargobind. Now it has been converted into a gurudwara.

When Fifth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Arjun Dev Ji came here from Village Sirhali Kalan, Mata Numberdaarni offered him a kothri to reside. Guru Ji stayed here for about 2 Years, 5 months and 13 days alongwith his wife, Mata Ganga Ji and young son Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji. A well where Guru Arjun Dev Ji used to have a Bath still exists.
Gurudwara Gurusar Satlani, 1.5 km south of the railway station named after it, is within the revenue limits of Hoshiarnagar village in Amritsar district of the Punjab. The shrine marks the spot where Guru Hargobind , travelling from Lahore to Amritsar, made a night’s halt near a pond. According to local tradition, Guru Gobind Singh himself appointed one of his Sikhs, Bulaka Singh, as the custodian of this shrine. The shrine was richly endowed by Sikh rulers and chiefs during the first half of the nineteenth century.
